Is an Opal a sign of bad luck?

Here is my little spell that I would like to share with all of you! I custom-ordered an opal claddagh ring last year and after then, I heard here and there that an opal is a sign of a bad luck. My ring reached my three months later and it is beautiful, reminding my of the dark Siberian sky with countless stars! So it is a natural course that I would like to wear this ring without being bothered by this information.So I turned my ring 7 times around my finger clockwise. It should rid of the bad luck if ever resided on that ring!
